This Organic Meal Delivery Service Eliminated My Nightly

I decided to go with Green Chef when trying to choose a meal subscription box. This is because of the slogan. The company is billed as the “#1 Meal Kit for Eating Healthy” and offers three different meal plans. Green Chef lives up to the title it claims.

Register for Green Chef

It’s easy to sign up for a Green Chef subscription. You can navigate the website easy to see all your options. This includes the three meal plans: Keto + Paleo or Balanced Living. The brand allowed me to view three weeks’ worth of menus without providing an email address. This is a common feature among meal delivery services. The Balanced Living plan offers 12 recipes weekly, whereas Keto + Paleo only has 10. Plant-Powered has 9. Each meal on the Green Chef website has a photo, a list of ingredients, an estimated cook time, nutritional facts and a recipe card. You can also access this information even if your subscription is not active.

Green Chef Meal Plan

Green Chef offers three meal plans, as mentioned previously. Here’s a quick overview of each.

Keto + Paleo – Includes high-protein, carb-conscious meals low in gluten, grains, soy or legumes.

Balanced Living: There are many meat, seafood and vegetarian options.

Plant-Powered: A variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes that use plant-based proteins.

I chose Balanced Living and received the following seven meals in two separate shipping.

Green Chef Delivery and Packaging

Green Chef allows you to select your weekly delivery day (Monday through Saturday). Green Chef has a 12-hour delivery window, which is typical of most meal delivery companies. This could be a problem if you aren’t at home. You can track your order via email after it ships. The company also uses insulating materials to keep the food items cool in case you cannot unbox them immediately.

How to Cook Green Chef Meals

The Green Chef recipes were easy to follow for a novice chef. The recipe cards contain step-by-step instructions and photos for each stage, from prepping to serving. Each recipe card includes the approximate cook time, serving size and calories for each dish, and allergen information. You can also access the cooking instructions on the company’s app and website.

It took approximately 45 minutes to prepare the meals, which was more than the 30-minute cooking time for each recipe. Pre-chopping of the meats and vegetables was not included, which increased the preparation time. Important to know that Green Chef expects that you have basic kitchen necessities like oil and salt. The meal kits do not include these items.
