SUPERB OWL COCKTAIL: A DECEPTIVE BUTTERBEER COCKTAIL

There’s a tradition every year in our home in which we relive everything good about American excessive consumption on a single day -usually in the middle of an American football match. It’s probably the championship or something, but I’m not really a fan of American football. Food is delicious, but. The year I was there, we thought that we’d like a special edition cocktail to accompany it. So, I’m introducing The Superb Owl Cocktail!

I’m a subtle person like that.

Evidently, I was riffing on the title of the sporting event. However, I’m still not ready to call it by its name. However, I did get inspiration from Harry Potter and Butterbeer. Yes!

My thoughts were twofold. If you’re anything like me and don’t care whether this is one of the Arizona Thundarrs or the New York Battlecats in the game, and you notice both reference points, you’ll likely be a fan of a butterbeer-influenced drink. You will appreciate the fact that it is reminiscent of a serious glass for a grown-up like that of the Old Fashioned.

We’ll refer to this as”refreshment” or the Refreshment of the Awesome Deceit (RAD abbreviated).

I began with what I believed was essential for a recipe: butterscotch schnapps. The main issue with butterscotch schnapps is that they’re extremely strong, and it’s to balance that sweetness while also enhancing the flavor.

After a bit of thought and contemplation following a visit to a class on potions, I was able to see that a rum with spices would perfectly complement the smoky flavors. Then we had a good base of butterscotch and rum, and it was pretty great on its own, but we required some companions.

To enhance the positive notes, dampen the ones that aren’t so good, and let everyone harmonize to create some chaos. I added peach brandy (booyakasha) and ginger Schnapps.

As a result, I am sure you will be a Superb Owl of splendid construction and sly appearances.

Add cherries to the drink, and you’ll have the perfect look of the old-fashioned -but it’s a butterbeer for adults.

Yes, I’m sure you could get cream soda and mix in a bit of butterscotch schnapps to make the better and more “authentic” butterbeer, but it’s not as thrilling. We wanted to be high in class with this. It’s elegant enough to make people believe it’s the celebration you’re having of American excessive drinking. However, it’s still an amazing riff on an esoteric drink that may be considered to be meant for children (the story and not the beverage).

Whichever team you’re rooting for, whether the Thundarrs or the Battlecats, ensure that you’re drinking the Superb Owl Cocktail on your menu!

SUPERB OWL COCKTAIL: A DECEPTIVE BUTTERBEER COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS

• 2 OZ. SPICED RUM
• 3/4 OZ. BUTTERSCOTCH SCHNAPPS
• 1/2 OZ. PEACH BRANDY
• 1/2 OZ. GINGER SCHNAPPS
• MARASCHINO CHERRIES
• GLASS TYPE: OLD FASHIONED

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Make sure you have an Invisibility Cloak.
2. If you don’t have a card, you can use it.
3. Pour all the boozes into your glass of cocktail with Ice.
4. Stir.
5. All booze is stirred.
6. Place a magnificent piece of solid ice in your glass.
7. Pour your steamed RAD drink over the top.
