‘First ever’: KFC introduces new BBQ Onion Ring Burger

What’s the smell? Is it love or fried chicken?

KFC launched their “first-ever” menu item featuring onion rings in order to celebrate the return of KFC weddings. One lucky couple will be able to enjoy the celebration of their lifetime.

The BBQ Onion Ring Burger is now available in participating stores. It consists of an Original Recipe Fillet, cheese, lettuce, and sweet and tangy BBQ Sauce. But the pièce de résistance are two onion rings.

Fast food chains say that two rings is the number of wedding rings required.

To be in the running for a wedding with the Colonel, Aussie lovers are encouraged to visit their local KFC and pick up an Onion Ring BBQ Burger. They can then get down on one side, holding the ring. And submit a picture of the moment.

The winning proposal will receive an $80,000 wedding package, including KFC catering and theming, as well as a budget for additional elements such as venue rental, photography, and entertainment.

The competition is open to all Australians 18 years and older, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, religion, or age.

KFC Australia CMO Tami Cunningham stated in a press release that “At KFC we always look at life from the fried perspective.”

“We know that our customers love KFC’s fried chicken as much as their partners do. What could be better than KFC at weddings? A moment of celebration in which our delicious chicken is enjoyed to the core.

We’re also very excited to see Aussies tuck into our new BBQ Onion Ring Burger. This will likely be a fan favorite for years to come.
